Openings for two Senior Innovation Specialists to build cutting edge digital experiences, with applications accepted through March 13th
The Library of Congress posted two, time-limited positions, with applications accepted through March 13, 2025, to create cutting edge and creative digital experiences in collaboration with select local community partners. These privately funded positions will work on engaging digital experiences that combine emerging technologies, digital library materials, and themes relevant to local communities.
LC Labs’ Innovator In Residence program, has engaged technologists and artists to produce creative and transformative digital work for the American people from free to use Library collections. Past innovators worked closely with Library staff to create new hip hop music using the Library’s free to use audio and video materials, re-imagine how we navigate digitized newspapers with machine learning, and digitally reconstruct historic places using Library materials and virtual reality technologies. Current Innovator Vivian Li is developing local adventures for audiences around the country to learn about their hometowns through items from the Library’s digital collections.
The Library is looking for two Senior Innovation Specialists who are experts in emerging digital technologies and co-creation approaches. They will work closely with local partners to co-create digital interactive experiences that will be physically hosted in select locations.
These positions will join a multidisciplinary team of technologists, designers, and librarians with expertise in emerging technologies, digital interactive experiences, community engagement, and digital collections. Candidates with expertise in these areas are encouraged to apply.
Those interested in applying should submit their application for the Senior Innovation Specialist job announcement on USAJobs which is open through Thursday, March 13, 2025.
These term-limited positions, supported through private grants, are remote with some travel required for the development of digital experiences in the selected locations. Because of federal hiring rules, we cannot directly answer questions about the vacancies, nor should an application be sent.
